What is the Bravo Test?

The Bravo pH test is a wireless way to measure acid levels in your oesophagus. A small capsule is temporarily attached to the oesophageal lining during a short endoscopy. It transmits data to a recorder worn on your body for up to 96 hours.

What to Expect

The capsule is placed during a brief endoscopic procedure. You’ll then wear a data recorder and maintain a symptom diary for several days. The capsule naturally detaches and passes out of the body in a few days.

Preparation & Aftercare

You’ll need to fast before capsule placement. Certain medications may need to be paused beforehand. After placement, normal eating and drinking resume within hours.

Risks & Complications

The Bravo test is safe. Mild chest discomfort or the feeling of something in the throat may occur initially.
